Implantation
Dental implant is an artificial analogue of a tooth’s root. It is being fixed into bone tissue of jaw on the place of an absent tooth. It serves as a support for crowns, dental bridges and other prostheses, which are made for substitution of lost teeth and to restore normal chewing function.
The main advantage of such method of treatment is absence of necessity of intact (healthy) teeth’ external turning. Implants are being made of titanium as it is the most biologically inert material, which possesses unique quality of osteointegration, i.e. formation of solid junction of implant’s surface with a bone.
